Bubbas Bad Road Glide
This
issues dyno run was brought to you by Bubba Jackson from the sales
crew at Barnett Harley-Davidson. Bubbas Road Glide was set up for
high speed southwest desert touring. He started off with 95 pistons
from Harley-Davidson, part number 22851-99A ($119.95). Then he added a
set of Andrews gear driven cams, 37Gs, part number DS199247 ($281.95),
Andrews part numbers DS199538 for gears ($380.95) and DS199235 ($26.95)
are also required for installation.
George Fell of Pine Forest Cycles, 6808 Pine Forest Road, Pensacola,
FL 32526, 850-941-1147, ported and polished the heads, raised the compression,
and installed larger valves ($600). Along with Thunderheader slip-ons
($459), a Harley-Davidson race tuner ($459.95), and adjustable titanium
pushrods DS193007 ($209.95), this package returned almost 90 hp and 101
lbs of torque. Fuel mileage stayed above 40 mpg and dependability was
not compromised.
Bubba leads the El Paso H.O.G. rides and has the miles to prove this
combo will run with the 103s and finish the rides just like the
88s. Note how incredibly smooth the fuel injection adjustability
makes the curves. No dips or hiccups in the power delivery. The total
for parts was $1,737.74 and you can add about six hours of labor plus
the cylinder boring charge. Now that hes got it running perfectly,
its up for sale. Go Figure. Give Bubba a call at 915-592-5804.
